There are moments in an artist’s journey that feel almost surreal. Standing in the middle of Times Square and watching my art light up on one of the billboards in New York City was one of those moments.
My piece Sunny Day Blue – from my Letter Set collection – was part of the Visual Art Journal’s Times Square Showcase.
I was really excited! Seeing it displayed larger than life, surrounded by the chaos and color of Times Square, was a thrill. There’s something wild about watching people rushing past taxis and neon lights, while your own art pulses above them – as if it’s part of the city itself. For someone who grew up on Australia’s Gold Coast, it felt like a very long way from home in the best possible sense.
This showcase was more than just an amazing experience. It’s a reminder of how art can travel, connect, and transform – from sketching ideas at my desk to sharing them on one of the world’s most iconic stages. Watch the videos so you can see it all for yourself.
